Outdoor Classic Pick-Up Hockey Tournament

This has become a highly anticipated yearly event for those who have participated. It's very cool to play outdoors under the stars on the side of Mt Shasta. They have a unique organizing structure that makes for a really fun time and features individual sign ups rather then whole teams. All games are played in one night, and the atmosphere is like a tailgate party with food cooking and adult beverages. Securing a slot is free, so if you are at all interested, sign up right now! The sign up fills fast, but it's usually possible to get in even if the sign up is full. Here's an except from their facebook page:

The Outdoor Classic Pick-Up Hockey Tournament is played on California's only full size outdoor hockey rink. Annual tournaments are held every January or February. All night pick-up style ice hockey tournament. Played 5 on 5 with a 3 game minimum guarentee. Check in starts at 4:30 PM . Teams are selected at 5:30PM. First game starts at 6:00 PM! Admission is $55.00 per player. Teams created by random stick selection. Reserve your spot ahead of time by email at hockey@siskiyourink.org
